On Friday 12th December, members of the Out Together LGBTQ+ charity enjoyed a wonderful festive evening at Leeds Playhouse Theatre, attending a special performance of A Christmas Carol.
Set on Christmas Eve in Victorian Leeds, the much-loved story followed the famously grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge: A man with no time for twinkling lights or festive cheer, offering only a firm “bah-humbug!”. As the cold winter night drew in, Scrooge was visited by four ghostly spirits who whisked him away on a whirlwind journey through his past, present and future, revealing the true meaning of Christmas.
The performance provided a heart-warming and memorable experience for Out Together members, offering not only festive entertainment but also the chance to come together, share laughter, and enjoy a cultural night out in a welcoming environment.
Matt Jameson, Operations Director for Out Together LGBTQ+, highlighted the importance of opportunities like this for the charity’s members:
“It’s fantastic that we are working with Leeds Playhouse and are able to access the shows for our members, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a great night at the theatre.”
Out Together LGBTQ+ would like to thank Leeds Playhouse for their continued support and commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Partnerships like this help ensure our members can take part in enriching social and cultural experiences, especially during the festive season.
We look forward to many more shared outings and memorable moments in the year ahead.
To help us continue providing inclusive social opportunities like this, Out Together welcomes donations, ideas for future events, and new members.
