A brand new chapter began in the Calder Valley today as our new community hub officially launched with a vibrant and welcoming coffee morning at The Hermit Café in Hebden Bridge.
With over 20 people (including 10 who were completely new to Out Together) joining us for coffee, cake and conversation, the atmosphere was filled with warmth, curiosity, and connection.
The event marked the start of something special—a new space where LGBTQ+ people and allies can come together, find support, and build community in the heart of the valley.
As well as enjoying The Hermit’s legendary hospitality, attendees got a sneak peek at upcoming events and activities. We discussed how the group will support more social gatherings and help overcome barriers to staying connected, including introducing digital inclusion training, and our new befriending service.

This is just the beginning. Future coffee mornings will now be held every third Tuesday of the month, and everyone is welcome—whether you’re local, new to the area, or just curious to see what it’s all about.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today and helped make the launch such a success. We can’t wait to see how the Calder Valley hub grows from here.
