The Leeds hub is one of Out Together’s most vibrant and active communities. It’s a place where people come to connect, unwind, build confidence and enjoy being part of an inclusive LGBT+ community.

Our roots are in Leeds, where Out Together began as a small social group in 2017. Since then, our weekly coffee-and-cake gathering at Flamingos has become a much-loved constant for many members.

Each month we also host a Sunday lunch, currently alternating between the Adelphi and Prezzo, and we hold a more formal get-together at the Playhouse, where a light lunch is followed by a members’ meeting. Leeds remains the heart of our network and a place where friendships continue to grow.

Whether you’re popping in for a chat, joining a group, getting help with something digital or coming along to an event, the Leeds hub aims to feel relaxed, welcoming and friendly from the moment you arrive.

What happens at the Leeds hub

There’s always something going on at the Leeds hub. Regular activities are designed to be informal, supportive and enjoyable, and include:

  • Social and peer support groups focused on connection and shared experience
  • Digital inclusion sessions with practical, hands-on support
  • Wellbeing activities that support confidence, creativity and mental wellbeing
  • Community-led sessions shaped by the interests of people who attend

Many people come for one thing and end up staying for the conversation.

Events at the Leeds hub

Alongside regular sessions, the Leeds hub hosts a programme of events throughout the year. These might include:

  • Our weekly Wednesday coffee and cake morning
  • Social evenings and themed meet-ups
  • Our infamous sunday lunches
  • Workshops and taster sessions
  • Seasonal celebrations and community events

Events are a great way to meet new people and try something different in a low-pressure environment.

Digital inclusion at the Leeds hub

Digital inclusion support at the Leeds hub is practical, patient and judgement-free. Support covers everyday digital skills such as using smartphones, tablets and computers, managing emails, accessing NHS and council services, staying safe online and keeping in touch with friends and family.

Sessions are delivered at a pace that feels comfortable, whether you’re starting from scratch or just need a bit of help.

Who the Leeds hub is for

The Leeds hub is open to LGBT+ adults who want to connect with others, build confidence or access support in a safe and inclusive space.

Some sessions may be aimed at specific groups, but everyone is welcome to explore what’s on offer and find what feels right for them.

Getting involved at the Leeds hub

There are lots of ways to get involved locally. You might attend sessions, volunteer your time, help run activities, become a digital champion or support events and fundraising.

We also work closely with local partners who refer people to the hub for additional support.
