Huddersfield has always stood as a halfway point between the larger LGBT+ communities of Manchester and Leeds, and our hub reflects that bridging role. Based at the Arcade Coffee and Food in the Byram Arcade, we bring people together from across the region, creating a vibrant mix of voices, connections and opportunities to belong.

Whether you’re popping in for a chat, joining a group, getting help with something digital or coming along to an event, the hub aims to feel relaxed, welcoming and friendly from the moment you arrive.

What happens at the Huddersfield hub

There’s always something going on at the hub. Regular activities are designed to be informal, supportive and enjoyable, and include:

  • Social and peer support groups focused on connection and shared experience
  • Digital inclusion sessions with practical, hands-on support
  • Wellbeing activities that support confidence, creativity and mental wellbeing
  • Community-led sessions shaped by the interests of people who attend

Many people come for one thing and end up staying for the conversation.

Events at the Huddersfield hub

Alongside regular sessions, the Huddersfield hub hosts a programme of events throughout the year. These might include:

  • Our coffee and cake morning, every second and fourth Tuesday
  • Social evenings and themed meet-ups
  • Workshops and taster sessions
  • Seasonal celebrations and community events

Events are a great way to meet new people and try something different in a low-pressure environment.

Who the Huddersfield hub is for

The huddersfield hub is open to LGBT+ adults who want to connect with others, build confidence or access support in a safe and inclusive space.

Some sessions may be aimed at specific groups, but everyone is welcome to explore what’s on offer and find what feels right for them.

Getting involved at the Huddersfield hub

There are lots of ways to get involved locally. You might attend sessions, volunteer your time, help run activities, become a digital champion or support events and fundraising.

We also work closely with local partners who refer people to the hub for additional support.
