Throughout the UK, Hebden Bridge has long had a reputation as a uniquely welcoming place for LGBT+ people, with a strong, visible community spirit. Our hub at the Hermit café builds on that tradition, offering a safe and friendly space where people can meet, share experiences and feel part of something special.

Whether you’re popping in for a chat, joining a group, getting help with something digital or coming along to an event, the hub aims to feel relaxed, welcoming and friendly from the moment you arrive.

What happens at the Hebden Bridge hub

There’s always something going on at the Hebden bridge hub. Regular activities are designed to be informal, supportive and enjoyable, and include:

  • Social and peer support groups focused on connection and shared experience
  • Digital inclusion sessions with practical, hands-on support
  • Wellbeing activities that support confidence, creativity and mental wellbeing
  • Community-led sessions shaped by the interests of people who attend

Many people come for one thing and end up staying for the conversation.

Events at the Hebden bridge hub

Alongside regular sessions, the Hebden bridge hub hosts a programme of events throughout the year. These include:

  • Our coffee and cake morning, every third Tuesday.
  • Social evenings and themed meet-ups
  • Digital workshops and taster sessions
  • Seasonal celebrations and community events

Events are a great way to meet new people and try something different in a low-pressure environment.

Who the Hebden Bridge hub is for

The Leeds hub is open to LGBT+ adults who want to connect with others, build confidence or access support in a safe and inclusive space.

Some sessions may be aimed at specific groups, but everyone is welcome to explore what’s on offer and find what feels right for them.
