To celebrate National Storytelling Week we are sharing stories from our incredible friends, giving an insight into people’s different experiences of being #OutTogether and exploring the highs and lows of coming out, across different ages and generations.
Matt’s story
Our ambassador Matt Jameson, aged 39, tells us how he came out at the age of 15, unexpectedly during a drama class at school when, as Matt describes, “something just came over me and I knew he couldn’t hold it in anymore.”
Matt talks about finally becoming the person he always was on the inside, and explains “I feel so privileged to be part of the LGBTQ+ community and I’m so proud to be gay. I’m so grateful we’re in a society now were there is so much more acceptance than there used to be and we owe that to the older generations for flying the flag and making it a safer, better place.”
