Club Out Together & LGBTQ+ Matters Networking Event

For our inaugural Forum, Out Together partnered with Walker Morris, Forvis Mazars and Mills & Reeve to host a series of regional roundtable discussions LGBTQ+ Matters. These will focus on proactive strategies for businesses to engage with issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community not only as employees, but also as customers and stakeholders. LGBTQ+ inclusion is taking on greater significance in the face of negative developments in many countries.

A recently published Gallup poll in the US reported that the percentage of people identifying as LGBTQ+ continues to rise, reaching an estimated all time high of 9.3%. This is explained by the increase to 23.3% in the number of Generation Z (19-28) reaching adulthood who identify as LGBTQ+. These demographics will have a major impact on organisations’ strategies.

LGBTQ+ Matters brings together Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) professionals, community advocates, and members of Club Out Together to:

Discuss the current landscape of LGBTQ+ rights and identify pressing issues.
Collaborate on developing inclusive policies and best practices within organisations.
Mobilise efforts to counteract discriminatory policies and promote equality.

At our first forums in June and October last year we began the conversation. We learned that each industry has unique challenges and opportunities. Therefore our next Forum will move beyond one-size-fits-all solutions to focus on sector-based discussions to help ensure the conversation is relevant, practical, and rooted in real-world workplace realities.
We hope to group representatives from different sectors together to discuss matters specific to their industry. Your insights and experiences are invaluable to this dialogue, and your participation will be central to shaping these conversations.

Club Out Together’s mission is to unite professional LGBTQ+ individuals of all ages who share a dedication to driving positive change. It presents a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded people from across West Yorkshire, to share our passion and shape future initiatives. For many of us it also creates a sense of purpose that can inspire and positively influence those around us. Refreshments will be provided.
